Both grade 7 and 8 were successful at "breaking out" of their first BreakoutEDU session. Students worked together to problem solve and figure out the answer to puzzles in order to unlock locks and find more clues. Both teams even solved the puzzle before the timer ran out. Great collaboration!

Figure Me Out!
Can you guess who is portrayed in these math problems? Students were given the challenge of sharing information about themselves in the form of a number sentence. What a fun way to learn about each other!
5 Cube Figures
How many different figures can you create using only 5 cubes? 30 according to the mathematicians in our class! It took spatial sense and trial and error to solve this problem!
Souvenirs of Summer
What did you do during your summer vacation? Students shared their summer stories by making souvenirs out of clay. Each student was given the opportunity to share their souvenirs and then write about them later. We all learned so much about each other by sharing our souvenirs!
Counting with K-Cups
Students were posed with a math problem of finding an efficient method of counting a stack of K-Cups. Working with a partner, groups discovered that it was faster to count if they made groups of 10, 20 or 25. Quicker counting meant more time for building with the K-Cups at the end!
